Explore the work of a formerly enslaved woman, Harriet Powers, from Clarke County, whose exquisite illustrative quilts hang in the Smithsonian and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Participants will hand-stitch a quilt square that will be part of a quilt top sold at the conference's art auction and take home materials for another square.
