You’ll create several Zentangle® drawings and learn how they can help calm your mind and keep your creative juices flowing. This presentation is a collaboration between Art Teacher and Counselor to create a Social Emotional Learning Lesson that focuses on how our students see themselves. Through Keith Haring Style and Mixed Media Drawings, we will explore the self-portrait and how we can express who we are when our artworks do not reflect our image. This will be a hands-on workshop where participants will make their own self-portrait examples and receive lesson ideas, rubrics, presentations, and worksheets to take home. Limit 24
Make an easy to assemble sketchbook and fill it with quick one day substitute lessons for students. This will take the pressure off of setting up substitute lessons (or filler lessons) when you have little time to prepare. All of these lessons can be used as a start to a larger, more meaningful lesson that can be art show quality. Limit 25
In this workshop, participants will experience chair yoga and mindful drawing or mark-making mindful breathing that we experience in creative flow and the natural meditative practice we experience when we are creating. Opening up a more intentional practice and focusing on deeper listening to our inner creative voice.
